The final stage was to move the lion that was appearing in a set of rotating images on the far right to move left to a video running in the left hand window that was meant to show the modern HTML5 environment with good support for video, text clipped to a shape, and animated SVG (that is really a laugh given what has happened since).

Attempts to run genuine videos in synchronisation with SVG animation was a complete failure in all the browsers and we had to resort to taking the individual frames of the video and running them as a sequence of images in the SVG document to ensure that it worked at all.

Below is the SVG animation attempting to reproduce what was thought to be the state of the world in 2012!

Everything you see is totally fabricated. All of it is SVG and none of it is native support by the browsers (other than rendering the SVG ;-) )
